Almost to the top.

Colorado Springs is down there somewhere.

It was chilly and the wind was howlin' like the wolf.

1 hour and 45 minutes to get here. Round trip was just under 12 miles with nearly 4500' of gain. It was fun but I won't do it again. The hike a bike was unreal.

wow, you sure do get to do cool stuff. i did some laps at greensfelder for the 100th time in my life...somehow i don't think that measures up to riding in the mountains.

I have seen tire tracks on the lower section (Pikes peak Road down to TH) but never heard of anyone (insert verb here) enough to do Pikes Peak Road to the top, Wow. Which way did you come down?

PS: You should do the 12 hr and see if you like it

Marshal...apparently you can't ride on the Peak highway unless you're with that guide outfit (I got busted for trying over the summer). I don't even know if you are supposed to ride the trail up that I did. It certainly doesn't make much sense to do so as there was tons of hiking but there were no signs stating I couldn't and I really wanted to do it. I started over at the Crags and within a few hundred yards there is a trail that forks to the right and it takes you all the way up to the top. Or you can go Barr trail which I might do next weekend and see which is worse.

I think I'd like to try the 12 hour but it sure is pricey and I'd get back so late on Sunday night. Are you gonna go?

Chris
Barr trail is to hard for me to want to ride but is rideable till the very top, check out Scott Morris's write up:

no 12 hr for me, work has me on the road in the wrong places.
I will try for a XC race in TX and maybe the 'Road Apple' in NM (you would like the Road Apple, XC drag race on fun/fast road/ST usualy with with some pro/semi pros finishing off their yr)
